Trump claims that Republicans will be known as “The Party of Healthcare” but, will they though, maybe? There is a slight chance (albeit, a small one) that Trump may feel so much political and personal heat that he’ll actually try to put forward a single-payer type system, which happens to be overwhelmingly popular among Americans. We shall see.
Apparently, #WeThePeople have failed to make it clear to our representatives, our #thoughts regarding #ClimateChange. We take the threat of climate change seriously and it’s affects that will negatively impact all of our futures.
We’re counting on them to implement #ClimateActionNOW to mitigate those negative effects. @AOC’s #GreenNewDeal resolution is, thus far, the closest thing to a serious proposal offered up by any representative or candidate for office.
It’s bad enough that we have to face off against oil and gas lobbyists but, now we find ourselves having to fight our representatives as well.
Please, contact your representatives and let them know that you want them to fight for us, our future and our children’s futures.
3,000 Americans died in Hurricane María. The Midwest is drowning as we speak. 100s of Flint families were pumped w/ poisoned water & our water infrastructure is imperiled across the country.
GOP thinks this is a joke.

We humans need to change the path that we now find ourselves on. For better or worse the United States’ superpower is, to lead by example. It’s about time we started using that power for the greater good. The only way our species has a chance to survive, long into the future is by creating an equitable environment for all. It’s not going to be simple or easy but, it is necessary and it’s incumbent upon us in the United States to lead the way by example.
There’s nothing wrong with the saying America first, so long as it’s not just about taking control of the World’s resources for our own gains. The Green New Deal resolution, introduced by Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez is an excellent example of a road map we should be following. From taking concrete actions tackling climate change and rebuilding our infrastructure to workers rights and dignity for all.
With our current spending on military defense greater than the other top 15 countries combined, claiming “national security” (jets, bombs, drone strikes and boots on other people’s ground), it seems to me that we’re setting a bad example.
What we do here at home will spread throughout the rest of the world. Whereas, instead of an arms race, we’ll have a sustainability race, an equality race. We should be that shining beacon on the hill that we’d like the rest of the world to see us as, rather than the militarized and force that they see us as now.
Peace is not just the mere absence of violence or disturbance. It's when there is a possibility of conflict, but you deliberately avoid violence and adopt methods to solve the problem through peaceful means. That is real peace.
